Web design
I am primarily a graphic designer. Graphic design is ubiquitous in our culture, which is why I think it's important that it be well done. That can mean anything from merely being pleasing to the eye to making sure you don’t get lost in the mall to encouraging you to make a donation to a specific charitable cause.
I graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Art with my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, majoring in Graphic Design, back when work was still done by hand. Now that design has gone digital, the tools are accessible to more people, and it's even more important for design to be grounded in good principles. I was taught in an environment virtually free of clipart or ready-made components, and my first instinct is always to create something original. Years of experience have tempered this impulse some, and there's a place for clipart when a deadline is screaming in your ear, but I still gravitate toward the unique.
I do freelance design for print or web. Logos, programs, brochures, ad infinitum. I also offer calligraphy for event invitations or just about anything else. Sometimes I do a little painting. Contact me about your next odd project. Also link over to the lampwork to see what I do for fun - namely, playing with an open flame.
